Panel: Rebuilding the world through Peace & Nonviolence

Jill Carr-Harris has been the Lead Coordinator in the International Jai Jagat campaign, a global initiative promoting peace and nonviolence. The Jai Jagat took up an international march in 2019 as a way to press global institutions and UN organizations to implement the Sustainable Development Goals in consultation with grassroots communities. Although the global peace march was aborted because of the Corona virus, the campaign has developed into a ten year campaign ‘to save the planet’ with “no one left behind”.

Over the last three decades, Jill has been focused on using nonviolent methods to assist with the development of the poor and especially marginalized women through community action and leadership development.  Jill has completed her doctorate from University of Toronto and has gained a wide experience taking up nonviolent training in many countries.
